About the Artist

Berne Born, also known as “The Travelin’ Glassman,” was inspired to design this one-of-a-kind mirror to benefit breast cancer awareness and research after experiencing a breast cancer scare with his wife. The mirror took him over 240 hours to handcraft and features over 260 beveled pieces of mirror as well as the signature pink breast cancer ribbon made from Starfire glass. Mr. Born’s love of glass began at an early age. When he was only 14, he traveled 30 miles from his home in New Jersey by bus to visit and/or work part time at a glass company. There, he learned how to work with glass and realized it could be used as a form of expression. For more information about the artist or the “Mirror of Hope,” please visit www.travelinglassman.com.
